There's one computer component you'll touch many thousands of times more often than any other — one that gets far less attention than it deserves. It can hurt you or be the primary conduit for everything you do, oftentimes both. It's the keyboard.

It deserves more. We're taking a lightning tour through some of the wilder shores of contemporary keyboard design, and no matter how many millions of characters you've typed we can guarantee there's something in here you won't have laid finger on before.

Sometimes with very good reason, as with this GlowType keyboard. It rolls up, which is good, and glows in the dark, which is cool — and feels like you're composing your best work on the back of a acne-ridden halibut. Which is neither cool nor good.
